Day 24

No really colorful backgrounds here! It is so cold, and we had more snow last night. Hence, all outdoor pictures will plain or white background, overcast, and rosy cheeked. :)
This is dedicated to pillow pet lovers all over the world (who take them everywhere with them and name them Georgina George Georgopolis ____ then our last name).

Day 24
Settings:
ISO 100, f/5, ss 1/100, 100 mm, no flash
This is SOOC
What is your opinion? Should I have had a flash?

okay, I fixed the levels, and lightened up her face a bit. That better?

This is so sweet - both the picture and the story.

I vote no flash.

No, the flash would have washed it out too much. I like the soft texture of the whole photo. She looks like a sweetie and I love her little pet pillow.

Beautiful girl. No flash just a bit of editing.

No, the flash would have been harsh with the snow. The browns are awesome together. Beautiful!

thanks, everyone! I lightened it up a bit and posted that one also.

No flash needed! I think flashes add an unflattering light and hardly ever use it. I think the picture (and its edit) look awesome as is!

Kara, this shot is SO cute! I vote no flash too, I think you did an awesome job capturing even the first pic!! Great contrast against the white snow, which I know can be so hard...but you did it so well!!

The photo is gorgeous, I love the look on her face. If it was a pop up flash I would also say, no flash, but if you have and external flash, that you can adjust (rotate and pivot) then I would say don't be afraid to play with it outside, even in these conditions! You'd be amazed at the softness of light you can create with an external flash!

I love levels! Great job, if you have an external flash a little fill light would have done the job nicely but not a full on flash.

You reminded me that our pillow pet needed to go for a 'bath', he gets taken everywhere as well :)

Beautiful picture! I vote no flash too. I hardly ever use mine. But I don't have an external either. I think your edit looks very nice.

I'm glad you didn't use a flash, I like the first but agree correcting the levels brought her face out nicely.

Chicago is some place I've always wanted to visit - figuring once as a baby doesn't really count ;)

I'm gonna have to say I think a flash would have added some needed fill light. With that said I do not know ANYTHING about adjusting your meter for (any kind of) a flash. I just got a speedlite on Friday and messed with it a little yesterday. I think with it the possiblities are endless. It will just take some studying and practice.
