Day 29

A little fun! I reupholstered my dining room chairs, and only have 2 (of the 8) more to go! So far I've found a button, 2 quarters, 1 penny, and a hair tie. And yes, my walls in that room really do match a mustard bottle perfectly! I loved the material, it brought in all my colors.

So again, inspired from Amanda's post yesterday, I'm letting the photos come to me! Grabbing what I have instead of searching for what might be the perfect shot..somewhere..somehow!

Here is my Day 29 with a fun textured photo of my new chairs! Then a little shot of the "before" complete with ketchup stains and whatever else.

Day 29
Settings:
ISO 400, f/1.8, ss 1/30, 50 mm, no flash
added texture for fun!

Nice job on the reupholstering! I'm not sure I could live with that much yellow on my walls, though! LOL

Love the new look. I also need to recover my chairs, but haven't found just the right fabric yet.

Ohh! Beautiful job!

Love them both! So one of my colleagues is a video/movie production professor and he was telling me about hero shots versus villain shots common in videotaping. Your photos capture this concept beautifully! We shoot down when capturing "villains" (the old chair cover) and we shoot up when capturing "heros" (favorable things like the new chair cover). Just what came to mind when I saw your photos!

Those are such beautiful chairs, Kara, and especially now that you've reupholstered! The yellow walls are really pretty, too.

And great capture of it all!

Glad you are finding your way and look where it's taking you! Would you mind sharing how you did your collage for your week's summary?

Kara, you're (and Carrie is) right! It is a hero photo! The funny thing is I took a bunch of pictures of the two lions straight on, and only at the end with the last picture did I decide to crouch down so I could point my camera up at him. I ended up liking that one the best:)

Cool chairs - my son & Dad do furniture restoration and conservation so my dining room chairs have been done several times for college ;)

Love the "after", I am in amazement that you re-upholstered them on your own. I would have made a mess.
