Day 78

Well, this is how terrible tonight went. I have total photographer deflation! I thought I'd wait until after my son's baseball banquet and wow you all with some really cool photo.
Like one with flashing lights..
or closeup of some amazing.. nnnnnapkin or something
beautiful lined up baskets...
balloons..
Truth is? I completely flubbed. The lights were so dim in some areas, and so bright in others. Even the photos I took with the ex-major league baseball players who help out each week.. were horrible!
I SO should have taken a photo of the rude, miserable, mean people that kicked us out of their spots..twice. TWO tables had literally a shirt draped over a chair, and who knew? Apparently that meant.. the whole table is saved! ERRGHH!! Yep, that's right. Shoulda plastered their mugs across my facebook.. AND tagged them! Can you tell I'm a bit aggravated tonight? This is what happens when I save a photo until the last minute. Never again.
So, I'm back to basics. No. Literally. I walked around outside today taking more photos, and took a picture of our hose bib. Downspout. Whatever you want to call it. This is what I got, this is what I'm proudly proclaiming tonight. LOL!

You don't need to comment, unless you have something that you can complain about with me.  :)

I can appreciate your frustration over poor photos AND rude people. Been there, experienced both of those things...but I must say this is one beautiful picture of your tap. The DOF is great and I like the precessing. Tomorrow is anbothwer day so carry on!

I totally understand that kind of frustration. I tend to get kind of testy too at the end of the day and I haven't taken a picture. It's so frustrating too when your images don't turn out the way you like. If it helps I really like this photo. It's simple and the processing you chose actually makes it pretty. Good job.

Ah yes, have been there too, minus the rude people kicking me out of their seats! ;) How horrible! I think that when you fall back to basics is when you become the most creative with your photography and capture everyday things in a fantastic way. I think you nailed it with this shot!! Great work!

Oh boy. Well, this photo is nice. I love how you can make such a simple thing that I never notice look so nice :)

Sorry you had a terrible night. Is it bad that I was chuckling a bit when I was reading your post? Poor lighting is a bummer. If I had a speedlight to bounce I know I could take better photos in terrible lighting situations, but I cannot afford one.

Hope today is a better day!

I'll complain along with you- my tripod broke last night :(
I hate days when you have these big ideas of wonderful shots and nothing comes out the way you planned. But, on the bright side- you made the hose look beautiful! It looks like a piece of art!

The everyday can give us great shots including this one.

I always have a bad day when I try to plan for photography stuff. I do better just to take pictures outside on the fly too.

Well at least you were able to salvage something out of your day. Funny how photography is like therapy and can take our mind away from what is bothering us by focusing on the task at hand. I for one love the interest in this shot but am sorry you had to deal with the rude people...arg!
