Day 75

Panning! I'm trying.. and, now that it's nicer outside, I can work hard at it. I even laid on my stomach out in front of my house just to get the rollerblade only shots. My neighbors must love me.

I must admit, it wasn't easy at first. I tried with my aperture the priority.
wrong.
Tried with manual priority.
wrong.
Tried with shutter priority, and it seemed to be the ticket. I started with 1/30, then worked up to 1/60. It was mostly okay, just trying with a steadier hand, and laying on your front side isn't so easy to get the arm flow going with the action.
Here are some final shots.. I will rest with these, but "Panning, my friend, we are not finished yet!"

 Day 75
Settings:
ISO 400, f/32, ss 1/60, 75 mm
mini fusion action from MCP Actions on both photos

Great job! I know my camera has that function, it's just not on my to do list yet. I'm still learning a lot of the more basic functions.

I love trying this, but the older you get, the harder it is. I like both of these...the blur, the action. They are great.

Wow, great job Kara! It looks like you're starting off on the right foot at least. In no time, you'll get a handle on it, I'm sure!!

Don't you love trying something new! I think these are really fun and you're off to a great start. Kudos to you for trying something new and different for you.

I LOVE panning!!! I learned to do this in a photography class. I would have to go back and look but I took all of mine in manual. It's possible, just a little tricky. If you ever want to try it at night, you should, it's awesome with cars. Maybe I'll dig my photos out and post them with the information I received.

I think you're doing a great job! Panning looks tough, I have yet to try! Love the shot of just the skates...and what dedication to get THE shot!! ;)

Aww, great job, Kara! It's the ones I have to work the hardest at that end up being the most rewarding and that I'm the most proud of. Great job, you should be proud! :)

Great job with the panning, I haven't tried this yet, but it's on my list. Love the first photo's movement.

Very cool! I've yet to really try and master it.

Btw, I wonder what my neighbors think of me and my camera? Good think I don't care! lol
