In a crazy busy mom life, running kids back and forth, you see things to take pictures of, but sometimes don't have time to stop.
So I didn't.
This was taken (yes mom) while driving (gasp!) I loved the look of it as I drove by the first time. So when I came back around, I got my camera out, played with the settings, and BAM! There it is.
They were burning brush and cleaning up a forest preserve area. Must be making more trails or something, but I absolutely love these colors together. (Black/Brown/Blue) The blue smoke just laying barely above the ground was so pretty!

Ahhh, I can smell it just by looking at it. :) And a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. As long as you didn't crash, I say it's all good. LOL
Kinda eerie. Cool photo!
This is a really beautiful photo. I love the grass when it's this colour and the misty smoke in the background looks truly amazing. I'm so glad you turned round and took the photo. It just goes to show - you need to have your camera ready at all times. (Note to self - take your own advice!!)
This is really cool! I can totally see why you snapped this one! Be careful though :O)
Very cool shot!
Very cool- I love when they do the brush burning around me, it always smells wonderful, but I never thought to take a picture of it!
This is a very powerful image....especially coming from a fireman's wife. I can almost smell it, and I too love how the blue smoke adds so much depth to the photo.
The smoke adds such depth to the image, and, even more, it creates story.
Love this! I love the feeling with the smoke! Thanks for your well wishes while I was sick!!!
An awesome shot indeed... but you were DRIVING????
Nice capture!
While driving? You're GOOD! If not daring! :)

While driving? With your DSLR? That is talent.
Beautiful photo!
Ha ha, drive-by-shooting - been there, done that. I drive 120 miles a day, so many times I just set the camera and shoot. Sometimes I'm surprised at the keeprs. Good job.
Lol @ Laura! Like this! They do control burnings around here. I had never heard of it before. Wish they had done more of them while I was living in FL....less land would have been lost.
Agree very pretty :-)
I have also done drive-n-shot but never had any good result, your is just amazing.
I like how the temperature on the bottom is really high, and in the middle really low. (color speaking) because I am sure it was complete oposit, and where the cold colors are was actually burning :-)
P.S. drive-n-shot...kids.. dont try this at home :-)
