Happy Valentines Day Eve! Are you excited? Had to take a photo of the beautiful vase of flowers my husband brought home tonight. I took the whole thing, then focused on one flower. I am extremely happy that I am finally starting to understand shooting at night, with artificial lighting, and they actually turn out! Instead of the same old flower photo, I added an action to it that my 9 yr old and I liked best. So, here's a bright rose for you tonight, and hold strong knowing that SOOC photos DO turn out at night! (the added action just for fun) ;)

So beautiful!
What a great photo. I LOVE the bokeh from the baby's breath!! Way to go.
Very pretty, love this! So lucky are you to get roses for Valentine's Day!
Gorgeous! Love the processing you chose.
I love flowers and this photo just makes me love them more!

wonderful shot and action, really makes the red pop.
Beautiful shot, red roses are so amazing in photos.
Beautiful flowers! Love the depth of the shot, and horray for indoor at night pictures. . .if only I could master the natural light 'easy' ones! :)
Lovely but you have to share what you've learned about night photography! :)
Happy V-day!

Oh, and I like your watermark A LOT!

Thanks, everyone! @Ingrid, it's all about lots of light into your lens. So, I used a 50 mm because I could go all the way down to a 1.8 if I needed. That way I could raise the shutter speed if I had to, but didn't need to much as the flowers weren't moving. :) In normal everyday artificial light, an ISO of 400 works magnificently. I posted the settings because they were perfect for this dining room table setting. Try these out more at night, around the house, and mess with the settings as needed. Practice practice! I still need every day easy ones practice, too! ;)
Sounds like you have a great hubby and a great little helper, too:)
This is a beautiful bouquet, and you did a wonderful job taking this picture!
Oh I love this! Makes up for me not getting any ;-)
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Lovely focus!
Ooooooh! SO beautiful!!
