Day 43

When did she grow up?

Did I notice her getting older when she was 3 and put my lipstick on all over her face, saw me coming and said, "Mo, mo, mo! Baa baa Ashee!"
Maybe when she cleaned the entire house at age 11 when I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed for 2 days?
Was it when she knew how to call a teacher without being asked, and explain an assignment she did and why she did it a certain way?
Why do these years go by so fast? Will I still have my little girl a few years from now?

As easy as it is to bash heads with (as I'm reminded over and over) an "almost 16" yr old, a mom just cannot forget the memories of not so long ago. The things they did that will still make me laugh just thinking about them... I love this (not so) little (anymore) girl!

Here she is tonight.. walking out the door to a dance. Don't know how it happened, but she's sure growing up fast!

Hope she had a good time, she looks fabulous.

I do know how quickly it goes by, my sons are 28 & 26. How did that happen so fast? Seems like they were just getting on the school bus and heading off to their first day of class.

Wow you still have lots of snow around. Ours has finally started to melt. I even saw a few blades of grass today.

It's kind of sweet, sad, exhilarating and heartbreaking all at the same time. My oldest turned 16 not long ago and I mourned his babyhood, but celebrated the man he is becoming; all with tears in my eyes.

What a dramatic picture! I can't believe she's only 16; she looks so grown up and mature here...and those heels are awesome. I know you are a little sad, but you must be so proud her too. She is a lovely young lady.

What a sweet post. My babygirl is growing up too. She's still playing with Barbie yet asking about makeup & shaving her legs. :(

Your daughter sounds (& looks) beautiful inside and out.

Thank you for the reminder to treasure the little moments with my little ones! It's tempting to long for the freedom that will come when they're older, but I know I'll miss these little guys being little so much!

I love the b&w photo!!!

Such an incredibly sweet story and I love the photo! From this angle, though, she looks older than 16 :)
