Day 33

Crazy CRAZY night and day! I blogged about it here at Typical Life of a CFD Wife, but to abbreviate it, we had 18-20 inches of snow with 45 mph winds! We actually had thunder and lightening mixed in.. who's heard of that with snowy blizzards? Iconic Chicago's Lake Shore Drive was shut down completely as 900 people waited for 12 hours! People stuck everywhere, just leaving their cars, made for a very memorable and exciting last 24 hours.

Then, the only photo I could come up with is this one? I know what you're thinking.. but, in my defense, we're snowbound, people! I did help the kids build and dig out an igloo today. I was going to take a photo, but 2.5 hours into it, it caved! So much for the "perfect Chicago Blizzard 2011 photo!" So, here I sit, mulling over the photos I took in my pajamas in the 7 freezing minutes outside this morning.

Hope you are all staying warm and toasty. What was your weather like today?

We've had 47" of snow so far this winter, some how we missed this one. pheww... we had a very dense fog all day today. It made for some really interesting photos.

I have had enough snow for the year but it does make for beautiful photos.

Well that was just a little bit of snow LOL! We got lots of ice, then rain, then snow and wind. It has been an interesting 24 hours.

I know what alot of snow is all about and how just shooting your own yard can be a task. I hope everyone's travels are safe in the crazy conditions.

Yesterday it was in the 60's. Today it's in the 40's. Sending warm thoughts your way!

It was so cold today and probably tomorrow, that we won't even be able to play in the 14+" we received in the KC area. The predicted temp here is -10 to -15 w/20 mph winds still, it stinks. All of that fun snow and no where to play.

I saw this on the local news here in NH! Glad you are weathering the storm OK! Yikes! We got a lot of snow too, but not the wind and thunder and all the scary stuff to go with it.

What is she doing? Digging or just hiding?

Staying inside as much as possible seems the intelligent thing to do. We are record breaking cold here in southeast Arizona. 5 degrees at 7 a.m. today and after taking the hubby in to work, I come home to discover no heat. There's a gas outage in the area that the gas company is working on. I may have to go buy some electric heaters shortly!

That is a lot of snow, sounds like you all made the best of it. I have seen photos of Lake Shore Drive on the news station, it looks like a parking lot.
